It kicked off with a public meeting in 2011, becoming Bunbury Community Radio Inc. in December that year.   With no broadcast spectrum being available until about 2014, time was spent developing the structure and purpose of the station.   Studio premises at Dalyellup College were arranged and a licence was issued in early 2015 with the first transmission being on the 22 May.   Commencing with a fully automated programme, the first live programmes went to air in December 2015.

Grants and sponsorship generated by members were sufficient for the station to start with a single studio using all “brand new” equipment.

Since the station has been on-air, live and local programming has expanded with a mix of specialist programmes ranging from nostalgia, rock, jazz, folk, metal, dance and spiritual offerings.
